About Use This Notepad

Use This Notepad is a free online notepad built for one thing: getting out of your way. Open the page, your cursor blinks, you start typing. That's it.

Why does this exist?

Most online notepads are cluttered with ads, require accounts, or push you toward premium plans before you've typed a single word. We built Use This Notepad because sometimes you just need a blank page — right now, no friction.

How it works

Everything is stored in your browser's localStorage. Nothing is ever sent to a server. Your notes are private by design, not by policy — there's nowhere for them to go except your own device. When you close the tab and come back, your note is still there.

What it's not

It's not a replacement for Google Docs or Notion. It doesn't sync across devices (yet). It doesn't have collaboration features. If you need a full word processor, there are great tools for that. Use This Notepad is for the moment you need to write something down fast, and everything else is in the way.
